EVA Sharf

.I was born in Berlin, but my parents were able to emigrate to England in 1938.

I studied at Manchester Regional College of Art and at Goldsmiths' College, University of London

I also specialized in Etching at Morley College, London.

When I married and moved to Israel I became a member of the Israel Association of Painters and Sculptors.

I have painted all my life, -memories of my childhood, the forest close to my grandparents' house that reminded me of tales by Grimm- and everyday objects from my mothers' household, that travelled with her to England and then to Israel, evoking nostalgic memories that appear in my paintings. I find that detailed observation, whether of nature or of the simplest household objects reveals so many unexpected facets.

I enjoy the technical challenges of etching that present so many possibilities, and photo-etching reflects my interest in photography.

I have exhibited in England, Germany, France Geneva and Italy as well as Israel- in Tel Aviv, at Shai Danon and at Ephrat Galleries, and in Yavneh, Haifa and Hedera,- and have taken part in numerous group shows.
